Instrumentation offshore cable

Offshore Cable in Instrumentation

Offshore cables are utilized to ensure that all instrumentation processes are available. In most circumstances, power cables are needed to connect all instruments. You must select the appropriate cable to achieve the most excellent instrumentation in an offshore environment.

Power Cables for Offshore Platforms

Power Cables for Offshore Platforms

Most offshore cables' principal function is to deliver power in one way or another. This is because electricity is required to operate and transport various machines in the offshore environment and power other components to increase productivity.

Control Systems in Marine Systems

These cables also aid in increasing the pace and efficiency of a particular process within offshore platforms. Control wires are required to deliver instructions to different functions to make the process more efficient in the marine offshore industry.

Communication Systems in Offshore Setup

Communication Systems in Offshore Setup

Communication is critical on any offshore maritime platform. In most circumstances, spoken communication is relatively easy in such an environment. Communication equipment and related materials are required to guarantee that information is efficiently sent to the other party.

Transmission Systems in Offshore Environments

Transmission Systems in Offshore Environments

The transmission system in the maritime environment is an essential factor in determining numerous processes. In reality, with the usage of offshore transmission cables, the realization of any function is possible. Several pieces of machinery and equipment in the offshore area require a transmission system to function correctly.

About Us

Description of Offshore Power Cable

This one-of-a-kind cable is designed exclusively for use in offshore platform installations to provide electrical power, lighting, and control systems. Furthermore, the offshore platforms in the aquatic environment require a range of distribution tasks only possible with this cable. This cable is widely used to distribute electrical power to various equipment, such as panels, control circuits, telephones, instruments, lighting, etc.

Guangming offshore power cables are built to endure the demands of harsh maritime environments. This cable is appropriate for various offshore applications, including Emergency Power Supply Order (EPPO), Floating Production Platforms Offshore (FPSO), Topside Offshore, Drilling Ship.

Flame Retardant

Our Offshore Power Cable is built to International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard 60332- 3- 22 Cat.A offshore cable specifications. It has flame-retardant technology and is appropriate for use in offshore applications.

Halogen Free

According to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), Guangming offshore power cables are intended to prevent the discharge of harmful gases in the case of a fire.

Cable Features

In the case of a fire, our offshore power lines will not be able to extinguish a large volume of smoke. ABS-approved and fulfilled the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 61034 series requirements.

Cable Features

Our offshore power cable has various qualities that distinguish it from competitors. It has a power output of 600 volts and can tolerate temperatures ranging from -40°C to 90°C. This should give you an indication of the Cable’s strength.

Each of its operators is created from the entire spectrum of brass from the previously described luxury. High performance combined with hefty exterior installation ensures a quality coastal power line is available today.

Cable Construction

We provide optimal safety and efficiency, an offshore power cable often comprises numerous layers of materials. The actual structure of the cable will vary based on the use and climatic circumstances, but the following is a list of the essential components.

  • Conductor and Braiding Wires – The conductors are made of copper wires and transport electricity via various components. These conductors are available in a range of diameters and may carry varied volts of electrical current.
  • Insulation- This significant component prevents current from flowing through the wires, increasing the cable’s efficiency. Cross-linked polyethylene (CPE) for offshore power cables with extrusion, Extrusions with insulation system up to 30mm thickness, and paper-lapped insulation paper.
  • Bedding – It’s constructed of filler tape or extruded filler, although it’s optional depending on the kind of cable and application.
  • Sheath – Because most applications occur on or beneath the surface, oil-resistant units are designed to protect the internal components of offshore cables from external damage, including damage caused by oil or water.
  • Armoring– Installing wires linked to steel wire braid or copper wire braid protects offshore power cables from mechanical stress.
  • External Protection– Depending on the conditions and installation requirements, the OPC cable’s exterior protection comprises a PVC or PE shell and layers of Polypropylene or Jute.

Frequently Asked Questions

The primary difference between RFOU and BFOU cables is that the RFOU cable is manufactured with flame retardancy capability in accordance with the IEC 60332 flame retardancy standard. In contrast, the BFOU cable has an additional type of fire-resistant Mica Glass Tape (MGT) that serves as a fire-retardant material over the conductor, providing continuous power or signals in the event of a fire.

Guangming’s offshore power cable is produced by NEK TS 606 standard and type approved by ABS classification society.

Submarine communications cables are important in international data transfer, accounting for over 95 percent of worldwide data transmission. These cables run hundreds of thousands of kilometers beneath the ocean bottom. They may reach depths of up to 8000 meters, similar to Mount Everest’s height.
